In Delta Force: Hawk Ops, we’ll encounter two main types of players. Pro and noob? Yes, but that’s not what I am talking about today. I am talking about the primary two types of players: the familiar and the non-familiar. The familiar ones are those who have played the original Delta Force games back in good old age. They know what to expect, the genre, and everything. While the non-familiar ones who just heard about this game may want to learn some details. Hence, in this article, we will give the new players some idea of the history of Delta Force.
Delta Force Franchise History
Back in 1988, NovaLogic gave birth to the Delta Force franchise. The first-person shooter perspective was praised for its tactical shooter element. The series had many games including Delta Force: Xtreme, Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, and more.

What made it stand out was its realistic mission objectives. Players would be tasked with eliminating hostile forces, rescuing hostages, and destroying military installations. Furthermore, the element of high equipment customization also offers an immersive experience.
Being a shooter game, every player has a unique play style. For example, some may prefer stealth while others prefer direct combat. Delta Force games ensured open-ended gameplay encouraging players for their own exploration and tactical decision-making.
To spice it up, it also offered multiplayer gameplay including the typical mode such as Capture the Flag. By offering all of this, the game got a big audience at that time.
What happened to NovaLogic?
The last game in the Delta Force series came out in 2006. It was the Delta Force: Xtreme 2 which got a negative response due to its dated graphics, and lackluster gameplay. It is safe to say that NovaLogic did not move with time. At the same time, other franchises started emerging like Call of Duty. Ultimately, the developer NovaLogic also got sold out to THQ Nordic. The new owner of the rights did not decide to continue with the Delta Force franchise.
However, in 2023, we finally got the news that THQ Nordic sold the rights of Delta Force to Tencent Games. For those unaware, Tencent Games is a big developer and is known for many famous games including PUBG. Tencent gave the project to its subsidiary company, TiMi Studios. They are also prominent with their projects including Pokemon Unite. Now the developer is working on the reboot of the franchise with Delta Force: Hawk Ops.
When is Delta Force: Hawk Ops coming?
Delta Force: Hawk Ops will be released in 2025. The game will not just be limited to PCs but all major platforms. This includes PlayStation, Xbox, Android, and iOS. There will be multiple modes including campaign and multiplayer.
