Delta Force is an all-new first-person shooter game featuring three modes. Two modes are multiplayer and one is a campaign mode. The game has managed to get the attention of gamers and has resulted in a surprising number of monthly active users and downloads. Additionally, the game is set to be available on all platforms including console and mobile. For now, it is available for PC gamers.
That said, one question comes to our mind, “is Delta Force capable of being an e-sports title?”
In today’s era, esports is a major element for all game developers. The significance is known from the fact there have been rumors of esports being on the Olympics. Meanwhile, I also stumbled upon a Master’s degree with specialization is esports. So you get it, esports is quite significant.
For Delta Force, the developer has not shown that much interest for tournaments and esports in general. But what do players have to say about it?
A Reddit user asked if members of r/DeltaForceGlobal believes that Delta Force could be a esports title. The answers from Redditors showed a mixed reaction.

Even cod is not globally esport. And cod is big.

warfare? not really. If they release a tdm or dom. but also not really. the current ttk and ttd are not competitive friendly.

Tier 2 esports with small price poll is posible. Something bigger – I doubt.
To make it works side companies must be interested in it. Look at Dota 2: many sponsors, many events from small local to world wide big. Any regular activities even in games must be good paid.
Core mechanic smust be the same and for actual game version (blizzard freeze game version for owl and it made it x2 boring). Look and CS 2: same rules as for regular ranked and for e-sports matches. So when players watch any events they see the same game play that availablefor them, and they can try to do same things. Also they understand situations and what they watch.

It makes sense that if games like PUBG Mobile and Free Fire can be a part of global esports with its survival battle royale aspct, then Delta Force also has the potential. Though, the developer may need to do some polishing for the esports. Some of which may include:
- Start hosting events on a monthly basis.
- Collaborate with pop-culture hits to get more attention in the space.
Add new appropriate modes specifically for esports
The current extraction mode seems more likely out of the two modes to be a esports title. But even then, it may not be the most appropriate. The element of having various different type of ammo, weapons, etc. and having big focus on “survival” makes it a bit hard to be a mainstream title for esports.
In the past, the developer hinted that there may be a battle royale mode for the game. Although, gamers do not really want another battle royale, if the dev could make it a bit more spicier, it could have a chance of being a more approritate mode for esports. Additionally, the game already has a solid roaster of operators, and hence the developer could use them for a Valorant or Overwatch type of mode. With this strategy, the game will give options to gamers to chose their favorite mode.
